Ibo Island Lodge & Azura Quilalea

Ibo Island Lodge is located on the prime waterfront site, overlooking the sunset and memorizing views and where romantic dhows sail out to sea on each high tide. The lodge encompasses three magnificent mansions each over one hundred years old with walls over a meter thick and lofty high ceilings.

Ibo Island is a potential World Heritage Site and therefore the rooms have been designed to incorporate the original architecture and style of the old buildings. The lodge has spectacular views over the bay and into the National Park beyond and accommodates guests in beautifully simple, yet elegant rooms with indigenous solid teak and mahogany furniture handcrafted by the people of Ibo.

Azura Quilalea the very beautiful and remote Quilálea Island covers just 34 hectares (86 acres) yet is easily seen from the air, situated deep in the Mozambique Channel.

The Quilálea experience can best be described as ‘private island meets remote luxury lodge’. Just nine en-suite villas each a comfortable 45 square meters in size, are sensitively built from natural coral rock, wood and traditional palm makuti thatch.
