Ilha de Mozambique lies off northern Mozambique, between the Mozambique Channel and Mossuril Bay. The island in itself is not very big, about 3 km long and between 200 and 500 meter wide.The island is also close to the tourist highlight Chocas Mar, which is a long beach about 40 km north of Ilha de Moçambique.
